IT in Nashville

It has been a little while since my last post, so since the day is a litte slow being Good Friday... Happy Good Friday... I figured I could use the time to update my blog.

So Nashville has seen a huge number of IT positions open over the past few months. I am on a phone call every other morning that goes something along these line... I need the same thing I needed on the last call... .Net Developers... So what's the deal with developers in Nashville? Why do I hear the market is bad but I am left with these open jobs and no one to put in them?? I heard a number the other day that there are only 900 developers in Nashville.. I also heard another number... there are 1000 IT jobs open right now. That is CRAZY!!

Nashville is a great place to live! What keeps people in Huntsville, Louisville, or one of the other.. terrible cities that you cant think of a thing to do there?

If you are looking for a new job, learn programming languages. There are online tutorials that can help. I have done a few with Ruby and jQuery that are free and will get you on your feet.

My last post about counter offers...

The last time I posted it was about counter offers.. I decided to wait for my next blog to see something. I had 2 candidates receive the "Counter offers". As of today, over half of their staff is laid off and one of them as left while the other one is currently looking... tssk tssk That new position would have been clutch now...

So like my previous blog stated... Counter Offers are a bad thing!
